Visit of Swedish Ambassador in Jamalpur
On 29th September 2022, the Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh H.E. Ms. Alexandra Berg von Linde visited SWAPNO project in Jamalpur. She has interacted with the district administration and discussed project progress & future action plans. Then she was joined by Mr. Prasenjit Chakma, Assistant Resident Representative, UNDP Bangladesh, Ikramul H. Sohel, National Programme Officer- Market Development, Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, Enterprise & Employment Analyst – SWAPNO, District Facilitator – Jamalpur. The team observed various activities and interacted with local public representatives and tried to understand the overall situation of SWAPNO project and visited various income generating activities of beneficiaries. She expressed optimism that such a project like SWAPNO is playing a significant role in the development of women’s ability to take the opportunity of economic progress and improve the extreme poverty of rural women through employment creation.
